According to the Internship Institute, there are five core skills that can bring value to just about any business. Consider these skills when planning internship opportunities:

  1. Research;

  2. Writing;

  3. Planning;

  4. Telephone work; and

  5. Computer work.

Examples of meaningful internship projects include:

  • Conducting surveys;

  • Performing competitive intelligence research;

  • Uncovering and pursuing marketing opportunities;

  • Developing and managing website content;

  • Writing and editing articles for publication; and

  • Planning events and preparing presentations.
