What are projected salary structure adjustments for 2009?

Most salary structures have control points (often the midpoints) within each salary grade. These control points should be analyzed regularly (at least annually) to ensure the salary structure remains competitive and keeps up with inflation.

Here are projections for 2009 salary structure adjustments, according to several sources:

WorldatWork:

  • Officers/executives … 2.8%

  • Exempt salaried employees … 2.7%

  • Nonexempt salaried employees … 2.7%

  • Nonexempt hourly nonunion … 2.6%

The Conference Board:

  • Executives. … 2.8%

  • Exempt employees. … 2.8%

  • Nonexempt salaried employees. … 2.8%

  • Nonexempt hourly employees. … 2.5%
